Mehrdad Razmara received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Civil and Structural Engineering from Bu-Ali Sina University in Iran. His research has led to 12 academic papers published in leading journals, 1 patent, and 3 handbooks.

Although he has worked on diverse subjects from concrete technology to geotechnical engineering, and water and wastewater treatment; some highlights of his research include designing and assessing two innovative apparatus to measure the properties of  self-consolidating concrete, assessing the different properties of ultra-high performance fiber-reinforced concrete, modeling and optimization of recycled concrete containing recycled concrete aggregate and waste glass, and proposing and implementing image processing algorithm to assess the segregation of self-consolidating concrete mixtures using MATLAB programming language.
